Disney's Christmas Parade at Disneyland Paris - Fun in the Snow

Disney’s Christmas Parade now has six full parade floats to its name as two brand new floats for the 2016 season saw their premiere: “Fun in the Snow” and “The Toy Factory”.

Performing twice a day as part of Disney’s Enchanted Christmas, the cavalcade now feels like a genuine, fully-fledged parade of its own, with a huge cast of characters and performers and a fantastic, feel-good soundtrack.

Like last year, it’s also now in addition to, rather than replacing, the regular Disney Magic on Parade! which continues daily each evening. But if you only have time to watch one parade this season, let’s say make it this one.

Fun in the Snow features Max Goof, Pluto and Clarabelle Cow on a white winter landscape of skiing and sledging, surrounded by snowmen with glowing buttons.

Rather than the Three Little Pigs as announced, The Toy Factory features Hewey, Dewey and Louie messing around amongst the garishly-coloured toy making contraptions.

This second float only made its premiere on Saturday, 19th November, more than a week after the Christmas parade actually returned. Up until that date, its “Toy Maker” performers and the Three Little Pigs were still part of the parade, walking the route, while Hewey, Dewey and Louie rode in Santa’s sleigh (they’ve now been replaced by two elves).

Though Disney’s Christmas Parade ran three times each day last year, having these two new units and such a large seasonal parade is a welcome trade-off to losing one performance.

Compared to years past, when the Santa Claus float seen here would simply follow at the end of the regular daily parade, Disneyland Paris now has an incredibly strong seasonal entertainment schedule.

Will it continue to grow in future, or is it now big enough? There was once suggestion that Winnie the Pooh and friends would be getting a new float, but they have only ever walked the parade route with their fun Post Office costumes.
