Dates set for 2011 return of The Tarzan Encounter

Monday, 7th March 2011 at 13:06

The Tarzan Encounter

C’est officiel: The Tarzan Encounter returns to The Chaparral Theater in Frontierland on 11th June and runs (daily, presumably) right through the Summer until 4th September 2011. It’s an odd turn of events that Disneyland Paris is championing so keenly its return to a show which originally premiered more than a decade ago, but that’s exactly what operating company Euro Disney SCA did at its Annual General Meeting last Friday, 4th March, announcing the dates for its new season as one of the biggest draws for 2011 in a dramatic video presentation, drawing woops of praise from the audience.

It was previously suspected that the show could just make it for a May start date, based on the audition calls, but the final June date still gives the show a good three-month run in the farthest corner of Frontierland — a vast improvement over 2010’s complete void of entertainment at the park’s theatres.

  • Thank you for the info about the dates. Personally, I can’t get overly excited about the show, as I have seen it many times before, but I am very glad that Chapparal Theatre will not be empty again like last summer.
It is an excellent show though, so very good for people who have not seen it yet.
Maybe they will decide to bring back the Pocahontas show there sometime in the future as well?
Goofy’s Summer Camp could have been excellent with more planning and rehearsal time, and if it centred around the Characters being on summer camp, with things going wrong for Goofy or Donald etc, and Mickey having to ‘ save the day’. It could have been a very funny show for kids and adults.
I found that show very disappointing.
If it ends on 4th September, will they have anything there before Mickeys Winter Wonderland presumably begins again? I have not heard of any shows for Halloween Festival there.

  • i totaly agree about the tarzan encounter ^^^^ it is a fabulous show and it is so magical but i dont agrre about goofy’s summer camp. if mickey and minnie were in it it wouldn’t be about goofy and his summer camp also i thought the dancers put alot of energy in. but it is a good idea to come up with :) ^^^^

  • Having never seen this show I’m really looking forward to it

  • Actually, I must correct myself. I will definitely be looking forward to seeing this show again – I had forgotten how hunky their Tarzan is!
    Ladies – enjoy!!

  • Wow! I totally love it that this show is coming back! I like Mickey’s Winter Wonderland most, but this one deserves a great second place! I love the part where Tuc and his friend totally ruin the human’s camp and the kids can participate!
