Mickey’s Magical Party preview video… with music!

Thursday, 5th February 2009 at 02:06

Mickey's Magical Party preview videoDisneyland Resort Paris has released the first press preview video for Mickey's Magical Party, following Mickey as he watches over preparations and revealing a special mix of the brand new theme music...,

The special video sees Mickey Mouse rushing from corner to corner all over the resort, meeting up with other characters who are shown to be preparing their entertainments for the upcoming Magical Party.

Several of the scenes were obviously filmed at the same time as some of the still photo shoots we’ve been seeing this past week, but — along with giving a first look at the Stars ‘n’ Cars vehicles as they’ll appear in Paris — there is one huge, enormous spoiler in here… the music!

We posted the lyrics just yesterday and only introduced the concept of this new song — “It’s Mickey’s Magical Party Time” — just last week, but already, here it is! Well, almost… as you might guess from the synthesised opening, this is actually a special remix of the song. Far more “dance” flavoured than the true number, and in fact likely to be the version heard during It’s Dance Time… in Discoveryland.

Here’s the video:

And a series of stills:

As for the “It’s Party Time!” song, hearing a slightly wacky dance remix before the real thing maybe isn’t the best way to be introduced to the new theme music of the year, but what do you think so far? Is this another Disneyland Resort Paris song destined to stay with you almost every hour of the day?

Can I be the first one to say that I do not like the remix but it does have potential.
    Like the video :-)

  • The song is awful, i look forward to hearing the non-remixed version.

  • cool video, but hope the non-remix song sounds better

  • The music is ok i guess but i’m still excited about all the other new entertainment

  • A cool video actually… and the music isn’t that bad at all, just listen to it a few times.

  • I love it!

  • The music is… AWFULL! Nooo… The end of Just Like We Dreamed It is… Nooo…

  • the video sucks but that’s not too bad. what really bothers me is that A.W.F.U.L music! disney should return to more classic approaches of music with a big band or something like that and NOT produce this techno crap! when I wanna listen to that kind of music, I go to a club and not to disneyland!

  • For disneys’s once apon a dream parade show stop will they play the non-remixed version??

  • @ryan: The Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade show stop for this year hasn’t been confirmed, but it’d be very, very surprising if they stopped using Just Like We Dreamed It. It’s the parade’s theme song, and only just happened to be used as the overall 15th theme too.

  • Once again, in the same vein as Toon Circus, Hands in the Air Carnival, and many more, this is aweful music to go with a pretty aweful concept.

I am looking forward to the Cars event (if they have decent music) and my kids are likely to adore Playhouse Disney, but this really leaves me scratching my head.

    I good video.

  • Echoing davewasbaloo, this is dreadful. In place of “magical and charming” we have “loud and bombastic”. How does this represent an escape from our everyday world? I’ll be giving it a wide berth when I visit later this year.

  • Did any one of you noticed that we were the only resort that kept using old cheesy music when every other resort has had pop songs and energetic music for at least the last three years ? Pardon my French (because I am) but I think that what is going to happen in DLRP is just getting modern (because the children now are HSM, Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers fans) and you should be excited about that.

  • Can we please hear the whole song? I just want to know what the final one sounds like before April!
